DESCRIPTION:Vikram Giri: We'll give an explicit construction of a sequence 
 of spin hyperbolic surfaces with genus going to infinity and with a unifor
 m spectral gap for the Dirac operator. The surfaces in question will arise
  from a tower of abelian covers of an arithmetic surface.\nBased on joint 
 work with Anshul Adve.
