  catastrophes
DESCRIPTION:Ariane Carrance: In this talk\, I will present\na new model of 
 random trees that generalizes\nBienaymé-Galton-Watson (BGW) trees\,\nby a
 llowing spatial correlations\nbetween the deaths of individuals\,\nthrough
  "local catastrophes".\nIn particular\,\ncontrary to BGW trees\,\nthis mod
 el no longer satisfies\nthe branching property\,\nwhich makes their study 
 much more complicated.\nHowever\, we can show\nthat\, under the condition\
 nthat the birth and death laws\nhave finite third moments\,\na forest of s
 uch trees\nhas the same scaling limit\nas a forest of critical BGW trees\n
 with finite variance\,\nnamely the Brownian forest.\nThis is based on a jo
 int work\nwith Jérôme Casse and Nicolas Curien.\n
