DESCRIPTION:Jayadev Athreya: We describe two problems regarding counting gr
 aphs on surfaces\, which generalize the idea of counting closed geodesics 
 on surfaces. The first part of the talk\, concerning theta-graphs on flat 
 tori\, is joint work with Aulicino and Richman\, and the second\, concerni
 ng triangulations on hyperbolic surfaces\, is joint with Aougab.
