DESCRIPTION:Joaquim Ortega-Cerdà: I will present a joint work with J. Marz
 o on a determinantal point process that is invariant under translations on
  flat tori. This process is particularly well suited to obtain sets of poi
 nts with Riesz energy close to the minimal one. In a companion work with C
 . Beltran we study an analogous problem in the sphere. This time the proce
 ss is invariant under rotations and it enjoys a very good equidistribution
