DESCRIPTION:: In this seminar\, I will present some recent work on the exis
 tence of fast traveling pulses for a class of FitzHugh-Nagumo equations wi
 th nonlocal diffusion. Unlike the dynamical systems approach via geometric
  singular perturbation theory (Fenichel's theorem and Exchange Lemma)\, th
 e proof relies on matched asymptotics techniques and Fredholm properties o
 f differential operators on suitable Banach spaces (Spectral Flow and Nonl
