DESCRIPTION:: Recent work on flexes of curves has given rise to satisfactor
 y notions of equivalence for germs of curves which also take into account 
 tangential singularities e.g. in the sense of points of inflexion.These fo
 rms of equivalence do not\, however\, seem to lead to a satisfactory unfol
 ding theory. I will propose an alternative\, {flex equivalence}\, which do
 es yield an unfolding theory\, complete with versal and stable unfoldings\
 ; and I will discuss its relationship with the approaches mentioned above.
