 \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDESCRIPTION\n\n\nThe aim of this workshop is to b
 ring together people working on Geometric methods and on Langland
 s functoriality in positive characteristic with people more used t
 o representation theoretic and automorphic methods.\n\nFor example\,
  not many people master yet the theory of Shtukas\, especially 
  the one which allowed Vincent Lafforgue recently to prove the g
 lobal  Langlands correspondence in positive characteristic "from au
 tomorphic to  Galois". The hope is that it could be fruitful to
  bring these methods together  with the themes of the Jean Morlet
  Chair semester.\n\nOne of the main aims of this workshop\, therefo
 re\, is to review the recent progress on the Global Langlands pro
 gram for arbitrary reductive groups in\npositive characteristic by
  Vincent Lafforgue\, appearing in his papers:\n(1) V. Lafforgue: I

 cent Lafforgue will be a scientific committee member for the wor
 kshop\, as well as one of the main speakers.\n\nThe workshop will be o
 pen for discussions and spontaneous additional talks\,\nas our aim 
 is to understand different topics which come together in this work. 
 There is also of course scope for further work!\n\nOutline\n(1) Introduct
 ion to automorphic forms and the global Langlands program for  f
 unction fields\; similarities and differences with number fields.\n
 (2) Geometric Satake equivalence.\n(3) Theory of Shtukas.\n(4) Proo
 f of Vincent Lafforgue's theorem.\n(5) Relationship with the Geome
