SUMMARY: (...): Interior and boundary properties of nonlocal minimal surfac

DESCRIPTION:: We consider a geometric variational problem driven by the min
 imization of a nonlocal perimeter functional. The surfaces obtained in thi
 s way arise as limit interfaces of long-range phase transitions and find n
 atural applications\, for instance\, in image processing and geometric mot
 ions. Some interior regularity results will be presented\, together with q
 uantitative flatness and energy estimates that are valid for minimizers an
 d\, more generally\, for stable solutions. We also discuss the (quite unex
 pected) boundary behavior of these nonlocal minimal surfaces. These result
 s were obtained in collaboration with Luis Caffarelli\, Eleonora Cinti\, S
 erena Dipierro\, Alessio Figalli\, Ovidiu Savin and Joaquim Serra.http://w
