 n\n\n\n\n\nDESCRIPTION\n\n\nThis is a programme meant essentially for grad
 uate students who wish to work in the general area of Automorphic Resprese
 ntations. It is expected that students will already have followed a basic 
 course in Number Theory and will have seen some representation theoruy of 
 finite groups.\n\nThe courses will focus on:\n\n(1) Reductive p-adic symme
 tric spaces / varieties\, distinguished representations\, parabolic subgro
 ups adapted to involutions of reductive groups \, relative (i.e. symmetric
  space) analogue of Jacquet's subrepresentation theorem\, relatively super
 cuspital representations and relative discrete series representations.\n(

  to the Jacquet-Langlands correspondence for GL(n)\, following his paper o
 n the subject in Inventiones\, 2008 (383-438).\n(Alexandru Ioan Badulescu)
