DESCRIPTION:Alan Sola: In recent joint work with Bickel\, Knese\, and Pasco
 e\, we develop a local theory of multivariate polynomials with no zeros in
  polydisks or half-lines. I will give a brief overview of some of these re
 sults\, and discuss applications to boundary regularity of rational functi
 ons having such stable polynomials as their denominators. \n\n&nbsp\;\n\n&
 nbsp\;\n\n&nbsp\;\n\n&nbsp\;\n\n&nbsp\;\n\n&nbsp\;
