SUMMARY:Workshop (CIRM\, Luminy\, Marseille): Mathematical Perspectives in 
 the Biology and Therapeutics of Cancer
DESCRIPTION:Workshop: WORKSHOP\n-\nThis workshop aims at bringing together 
 specialists and young researchers from different mathematical backgrounds 
 (modeling\, numerical simulations and analysis) working in the fields of o
 ncology and oncopharmacology. This meeting follows three previous workshop
 s successfully organized in CIRM in 2009\, 2011 and 2015. Bringing the wor
 ld of mathematicians\, oncologists and biologists closer is a promising wa
 y of setting up interdisciplinary collaborations which have led to importa
 nt progress in the discipline of onco-mathematics in the last decade.\n-\n
 Topics:\n- Evolution and cancer (atavistic theory and moving epigenetic la
 ndscape)\n- Drug resistance\n- Heterogeneity in cancer cell populations\n-
  Upscaling models (from ODEs in single cells to structured PDEs in cell po
 pulations)\n- Metabolism\, stemness and epigenetic treatments\n- Biomarker
 s\, imagery\; from single cell genetic/epigenetic measurements to distribu
 ted heterogeneity in cell population models\n- From ABMs to PDEs\n- Immuno
 therapies (immune checkpoint inhibitors\, oncolytic viruses\, engineered T
 -cells/macrophages\, pathogen-based treatments\, etc.)\n- Motion of cancer
