 ry in terms of stars
DESCRIPTION:Axel Gastaldi: During this presentation we will try to unify di
 fferent axes of mathematics by using the powerful tool of C*-algebras\, pl
 aying a crucial role in quantum mechanics. I will decompose the presentati
 on in few different parts. After a brief introduction highlighting the pri
 ncipal properties of these algebras\, we will first deal with measure theo
 ry by following the works of Von Neumann and Murray. Next\, we will give a
  sense to topological quotient and orbital spaces in terms of C*-algebras\
 , enriching the classical structure. Finally\, we will spend time on the c
 lassical and historical example of the space of Penrose tilings to illustr
 ate our purpose.\n&nbsp\;\n\n\n\nLe séminaire des doctorant⋅es de l'I2M
  et du CPT à Luminy regroupe chaque semaine les doctorant⋅es du site au
 tour d'un exposé plus ou moins (in)formel\, dans un cadre convivial. Il e
 st évidemment ouvert aux étudiant⋅es de master et aux doctorant⋅es d
