DESCRIPTION:Boris Solomyak: Let $\\zeta$ be a primitive aperiodic substitut
 ion on $d$ symbols. We consider the corresponding automorphism ($Z$-action
 )\, which is known to be uniquely ergodic\, and investigate its spectral p
 roperties.\nAfter surveying known results\, I will discuss recent joint wo
 rk with A. I. Bufetov\, where we obtain a new sufficient condition for pur
 e singular spectrum\, using a construction of "spectral cocycle".\n
