 he metastable Curie-Weiss model
DESCRIPTION:Pierre LE BRIS: Some low temperature particle systems in mean-f
 ield interaction are ergodic\nwith respect to a unique invariant measure\,
 \nwhile their (non-linear) mean-field limit may possess several steady sta
 tes.\nIn particular\, in such cases\, propagation of chaos\n(i.e. the conv
 ergence of the particle system to its mean-field limit as n\,\nthe number 
 of particles\, goes to infinity) cannot hold uniformly in time\nsince the 
 long-time behaviors of the two processes are a priori incompatible.\nHowev
 er\, the particle system may be metastable\,\nand the time needed to exit 
 the basin of attraction\nof one of the steady states of its limit and go t
 o another\nis exponentially (in n) long.\nBefore this exit time\,\nthe par
 ticle system reaches a (quasi-)stationary distribution\,\nwhich we expect 
 to be a good approximation\nof the corresponding non-linear steady state.\
 nThe goal of this talk is to study a toy model\,\nthe Curie-Weiss model\, 
 and show uniform in time propagation of chaos\nof the particle system cond
 itioned to keeping a positive mean.\nBased on joint work with L. Journel (
 Université de Neuchâtel).\n
