DESCRIPTION:: The McLennan ensemble describes close-to-equilibrium stationa
 ry fluctuations. It summarizes the usual linear response theory  around r
 eversible Markov processes.\nAs these McLennan ensembles for spatially ext
 ended systems extend the class of Gibbs measures to close-to-equilibrium s
 ituations\, there arise a number of natural statistical mechanical questio
 ns related to their thermodynamic limit and phase transition behavior. In 
 this talk we introduce the McLennan ensembles and show their main interest
