  wish to further expend work developed during a Research in Residence whic
 h took place at CIRM from February 27 to March 10. It studies the statisti
 cs of the random energy model (REM)\, introduced by B. Derrida in 1980\, i
 n the complex temperature domain via random complex functions. It is an ex
 actly solvable canonical model of statistical mechanics with disorder. The
  approach followed is both physical and probabilistic.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
 \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
