 omorphic forms and Langlands fonctoriality is a very active area of contem
 porary international mathematical research at the cross-roads of number th
 eory\, representation theory\, arithmetic\, and algebraic geometry.\n\nEnd
 oscopy\, a technique that allows to study certain instances of functori
 ality\, was initiated by Langlands and Shelstad almost forty\nyear
 s ago\, and is now at a mature state.\nEndoscopic functorialities
  are determined by character identities that are dual to transfe
 r of conjugacy classes.\nEndoscopy is fundamental as it puts a stru
 cture (L-packet and A packet) on "the set" of automorphic represe
 ntations.\n\n​The most recent highlight of the theory is the classificat
 ion of the automorphic spectrum of orthogonal\, symplectic (Arthur) and un
 itary groups (Mok) in terms of the automorphic spectrum of GL(n). The proo
 f relies on highly-sophisticated tools\, such as the stable version of the
  twisted Arthur-Selberg trace formula.\nlt depends also on deep resul
 ts on local harmonic analysis such as: - transfer of orbital int
 egrals (Waldspurger) and the famous\nfundamental Iemma (whose most gen
 eral statement was proved by Ngô by powerful geometric methods).\n\nNew t
 echniques and methods are needed for further study of fonctoriality that c
 omplements or goes beyond endoscopy.\n\nThe common motivation for the
  conference "Relative Trace Formula\, Periods and L_Functions and
  Harmonic Analysis" is to study the\n"periods " of automorphic f
 orms.\nThe non-vanishing of certain periods should be characterized by fun
 ctoriality. Moreover\, special values of L-functions should be related to 
 periods (a paradigm is on old result on Waldspurger of the relation betwee
 n toric periods and\ncentral values of L-function of automorphic form
 s\; a broad generalization is the so-called global Gross-Prasad con
