SUMMARY:Jessie Levillain (CNES): Séminaire AA -- Fokker-Planck based mathe
matical models for flagellar activation mechanisms
DESCRIPTION:Jessie Levillain: Cilia and flagella exhibit a characteristic p
eriodic motion that enables them\nto swim efficiently in viscous fluids. T
his motion arises from a active internal\nstructure that runs along the en
tire length of the filament\, known as the ax-\noneme. Within the axoneme\
, forces are generated by molecular motors that act\ncollectively to produ
ce the filament’s curvature.\nAfter analyzing a first model for molecula
r motors\, we will introduce sev-\neral formulations of coupled partial di
fferential equation systems describing ac-\ntivation within a periodic cel
 l. Theoretical results will be complemented by\nnumerical simulations.
