SUMMARY:Louis Usala (CPT (AMU)): The Uncle Paul's Conjecture
DESCRIPTION:Louis Usala: Abstract : The Uncle Paul's Conjecture is related 
 to the following problem in Euclidean geometry : given a triangle\, what 
 is the largest square fitting inside it ? Given the simplicity of this st
 atement\, I invite\nyou to take two minutes (or more...) and think about 
 an intuitive solution and a strategy to tackle this problem.\nAfter formal
 ly rephrasing this statement and the related conjecture by Boisseau et al.
 \, we will highlight some principles to guide us to the solution. Thanks t
 o some carefully-chosen systems of equations\, we will expose the solution
  to this problem\, which carries some non-trivial patterns. (There will be
  enough diagrams and drawings to compensate those equations. We're still d
 oing Euclidean geometry.) Then\, we will focus on related problems and app
 lications of these tools.\n&nbsp\;\n\n\n\nLe séminaire des doctorant⋅es
  de l'I2M et du CPT à Luminy regroupe chaque semaine les doctorant⋅es d
 u site autour d'un exposé plus ou moins (in)formel\, dans un cadre conviv
 ial. Il est évidemment ouvert aux étudiant⋅es de master et aux doctora
 nt⋅es d'autres laboratoires.\n\nPour le moment\, le séminaire a lieu da
 ns la salle 500-504b du TPR2\, au 5ème étage.
