DESCRIPTION:Cyril LETROUIT: We present two results about subelliptic wave e
 quations\, i.e.\,\nwave equations with a subelliptic Laplacian. The first 
 one concerns\ncontrol theory: it says that subelliptic wave equations are 
 never\ncontrollable/observable. The second one concerns the propagation of
 \nsingularities for these equations: revisiting a paper by Melrose\, we\nd
 escribe how singularities of the initial datum propagate when time\nevolve
 s\, and relate these results to modern sub-Riemannian geometry.
