 echanics and Cosmology
DESCRIPTION:Siméon Vareilles: \nAbstract : In this talk\, I will review Be
 ll’s theorem\, which tests the non-locality of quantum mechanics\, and d
 iscuss the challenges of extending such tests to cosmological scales. I wi
 ll start by setting the historical context\, focusing on the mid-20th-cent
 ury debate between Einstein and Bohr over the role of non-locality in the 
 formalism of quantum mechanics. Then\, I will outline the derivation of th
 e CHSH-Bell inequalities\, comparing predictions from a local hidden varia
 ble theory and quantum mechanics\, and briefly review how Nobel-prized exp
 eriments have resolved this debate. Finally\, I will discuss the feasibili
 ty of implementing Bell tests in a cosmological setting to tell us about t
 he quantum nature of fluctuations in the early universe.\n&nbsp\;\n\n\n\nL
