SUMMARY:Emily CLEMENT (LIPN\, Paris 13): Introduction to random groups and 
 their properties
DESCRIPTION:Emily CLEMENT: In the study of random groups\, as pioneered by 
 Gromov en 1996\, one considers the properties of randomly chosen finitely 
 presented groups &lt\;S|R&gt\;\, generated by generators and cancelling re
 lations. Several models are possible\, according to the type of relations 
 or the asymptotic parameters that are chosen.\nIn our work\, we focus on f
 ixed-length relations in particular of triangular ones.\nIn this talk\, we
  will give an overview of classical tools (Van Kampen Diagram\, Cayley Gra
 ph...)\, problems (Word problem) and properties (Hyperbolicity\, Freeness.
 ..) of random groups. We will also present our published and current resul
 ts about Serre Properties FA and Hyperbolicity.
