Superconductivity was first observed a century ago. However\, the BCS theory\, the first satisfying understanding of this phenomenon\, was formalized in 1957. This satisfaction lasted a couple of decades\, unt il experimentalists discovered a variety of exotic superconductors\, poorl y described by BCS. Over the last 20 years\, the use of topology provided a more relevant background to describe these materials. In this talk\, we will briefly recall the phenomenology of superconductors. Then we will exp lain the BCS theory.
