DESCRIPTION:Yenni Cherik: The zero set of a complex polynomial in two varia
 bles is in particular a punctured compact surface\, we are going to compac
 tify it by extending it to the zero set of a homogeneous complex polynomia
 l in the complex projective plane\, we will then get a compact surface and
  we will see that it's genus is equal to (d-1)(d-2)/2 where d id the degre
 e of the polynomial.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
