SUMMARY:Pairs (CIRM\, Luminy\, Marseille): Tree Shifts\, Quasi-Similarity a
nd their Applications (Morlet Chair Shigeki Akiyama)

 nTree Shifts\, Quasi-Similarity and their Applications (2122)\nDates: 5-16
February 2018 at CIRM (Marseille Luminy\, France) \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\
n\n\n\nDESCRIPTION\nIt is well known that two dimensional subshift is much
more involved than dimensional one\, e.g.\, it is already difficult to c
ompute the entropy of 2-dim subshift of finite type. In this research in p
airs\, we discuss possible applications of tree shifts and quasi self-simi
lar tilings\, both of which have intermediate complexity.\n\nWe expect the
ir possible applications in a wide range of problems\, such as semi-group
action via two different algorithms\, space filling curve property of frac
tal tiles\, and construction of quasi-self similar polygonal tilings.\n\n\
