Singularities and Equilibria of Constrained Systems

In this talk we discuss some results about Coulomb potential and the Area function on constrained systems:
– Linkages in the plane,
– Point charges on Curves (and other constrains).
We describe the equilibria in geometric terms and use Morse theory and caustics.
This is joint work of Khimshiashvili-Panina-Siersma during Research in Triple at CIRM.
