The eigenvalues of the fractional p-laplacian

In this talk we will show some results concerning the eigenvalue problem for the fractional p-laplacian, a nonlinear and nonlocal differential operator, under Dirichlet boundary conditions. In particular we will speak about the positivity of the first eigenfunction, and the minimization of the second eigenvalue under a volume constraint, highlighting the differences with the local case. The results were obtained in collaboration with Lorenzo Brasco (I2M, Marseille) and Erik Lindgren (KTH, Stockholm).
