Gregoire Aufort

I am a Ph.D student working on statistical applications in extragalactic astrophysics at Aix-Marseille University. I am part of the Institut de Mathematiques de Marseille and the Laboratoire d'Astrophysique de Marseille.
My thesis is entitled "Constraining galaxy parameters : Rethinking the Bayesian analysis of spectral energy distributions".
I'm mostly focused on Bayesian statistics, Approximate Bayesian methods, Monte Carlo methods (Importance sampling and Particle filters) and statistical learning applied to galaxy evolution. I'm part of the project MOONS scientific team working the developpment of the statistical data analysis methodology and worked with the SPICA team on machine learning methods for AGN detection.

I'm also Teaching assistant and give tutorials for several Mathematics and statistics courses
