Using intersection theory on non-reductive geometric invariant theoretic quotients and work of Riedl and Yang we recently completed a proof of the Green–Griffiths–Lang and Kobayashi hyperbolicity conjectures for generic hypersurfaces of polynomial degree. We explain elements of the proof.
