Introduction to hadronic physics

Abstract : Quantum Chromodynamics (QCD) is a Quantum Field Theory that describes one of the fundamental forces in nature, the Strong Force. It was proposed in the 70’s by David Politzer, Frank Wilczek y David Gross as a theory to understand the inner structure of protons and neutrons. In this talk I will first give a general description of how QCD describes the fermion sector of the Standard Model and it’s flavour and colour properties, and how the process of hadronization emerges from this. Afterwards, I will show how to construct the Lagrangian of the Heavy Quark Effective Theory (HQET) and how it can be used to describe heavy mesons.
Le séminaire des doctorant⋅es de l’I2M et du CPT à Luminy regroupe chaque semaine les doctorant⋅es du site autour d’un exposé plus ou moins (in)formel, dans un cadre convivial. Il est évidemment ouvert aux étudiant⋅es de master et aux doctorant⋅es d’autres laboratoires.
