Role The role of the Scientific Prospects Committee is to assist the laboratory in preparing medium-term employment campaigns. The committee’s role is to listen and identify the laboratory’s needs. It identifies and analyzes existing strengths and weaknesses. It identifies emerging, growth-generating or reinforcing themes. In particular, we need to identify cross-disciplinary themes that will strengthen the cohesion of the laboratory. The aim is to assess the value of developing these themes for the laboratory, and their feasibility in terms of candidate pools, scientific priority and balance. The commission must take all this information into account, as well as external audits (HCERES report), to develop job profiles. When themes emerge, the commission organizes laboratory days. During these days, short colloquium-style presentations introduce laboratory members to areas of interest for potential recruitment. These presentations can be given by members of the laboratory or by external speakers. Speakers are chosen by the committee. The commission, whose role is purely advisory, will report on its work to the laboratory board. (see reports).
