The aim of the ” Instituts Convergences ” initiative (part of the “Investissements d’Avenir” program) is to initiate a new approach aimed at structuring a number of centers bringing together large-scale, high-profile, multi-disciplinary scientific forces to better address major issues at the crossroads of societal and economic challenges and the questions raised by the scientific community (read more on the ANR website). These projects have led to the creation of university-hospital consortiums (DHU Imagerie biomédicale et thérapie guidée par l’imagerie), in which I2M members (in particular the ALEA group) play an important role. Last but not least, they are also reflected in increased involvement in existing collaborations with major life science institutes, in particular the IPC (Institut Paoli Palmette), the IMBE (Institut Méditerranéen de Biodiversité et d’Écologie), and the IHU (Institut Hospitalo-Universitaire Méditerranée Infection).
