Le lieu de dégénérescence orbital d’une section s d’un fibré vectoriel E sur une variété est le lieu des points x où s dégénère, c’est-à-dire s(x) appartient à une sous-variété fixée de l’espace total de E ; cette notion généralise, par exemple, les lieux de dégénérescence habituels d’un morphisme entre deux fibrés vectoriels. Dans cet exposé, je vais présenter des techniques géométriques pour l’étude de ces lieux de dégénérescence ; avec ces techniques, on peut produire de nombreux exemples de variétés à canonique trivial, notamment de Calabi-Yau, en généralisant de cette façon certaines constructions connues (variétés déterminantales, lieux des zéros). Il s’agit d’un travail en commun avec Vladimiro Benedetti, Sara Angela Filippini et Laurent Manivel.

Orbital degeneracy loci and applications

The orbital degeneracy locus of a section s of a vector bundle E over a manifold is the locus of the points x where s degenerates, i.e. s (x) belongs to a fixed subvariety of l ‘ total space of E; this notion generalizes, for example, the usual places of degeneration of a morphism between two vector bundles. In this talk, I will present geometric techniques for the study of these places of degeneration; with these techniques, one can produce numerous examples of trivial canonical manifolds, in particular of Calabi-Yau, by generalizing in this way certain known constructions (determinantal manifolds, loci of zeros). It is a joint work with Vladimiro Benedetti, Sara Angela Filippini and Laurent Manivel.
