On an extension of the Bernstein-Markov property to Müntz polynomials
The fact that a positive measure ν, defined on the complex plane, is sufficiently dense on its support is a sufficient condition for it to satisfy the Bernstein-Markov property, that is to say that the norms Lν2 et L∞ of polynomials of degree n are asymptotically comparable in nth root. We show that this condition is also sufficient to extend the Bernstein-Markov property to Müntz-type polynomials. We use this result to describe the asymptotics of some biorthogonal sets. Work in collaboration with Thomas Bloom and Norman Levenberg.
