Le fait qu’une mesure positive ν, définie sur le plan complexe, soit suffisamment dense sur son support est une condition suffisante pour qu’elle satisfasse la propriété de Bernstein-Markov, c’est à dire que les normes L_ν² et L^∞ des polynômes de degré n soient asymptotiquement comparables en racine n-ième. On montre que cette condition suffit également pour étendre la propriété de Bernstein-Markov à des polynômes de type Müntz. On utilise ce résultat pour décrire l’asymptotique de certains ensembles biorthogonaux. Travail en collaboration avec Thomas Bloom et Norman Levenberg.

On an extension of the Bernstein-Markov property to Müntz polynomials

The fact that a positive measure ν, defined on the complex plane, is sufficiently dense on its support is a sufficient condition for it to satisfy the Bernstein-Markov property, that is to say that the norms L_ν² et L^∞ of polynomials of degree n are asymptotically comparable in nth root. We show that this condition is also sufficient to extend the Bernstein-Markov property to Müntz-type polynomials. We use this result to describe the asymptotics of some biorthogonal sets. Work in collaboration with Thomas Bloom and Norman Levenberg.
