1- General information
We use the DOSI service offering, based on a Sympa server, and described on https://listes-diffusion.univ-amu.fr/.
There are fifty-four lists, listed below.
2- Good usage
Before posting to a mailing list, make sure you’re using a list that’s appropriate for your subject, and that your message is relevant to all subscribers.
When writing your message, please avoid any personal attacks on colleagues in order to preserve good relations within our laboratory.
3- Attachments
Attachment size is limited (to 512 Kb or 1 Mb depending on the list). This choice was made by DOSI in view of the large number of possible recipients.
If you wish to distribute a larger document, use the Filez service offered by ENT or the FileSender service offered by Renater, https://filesender.renater.fr/.
4- Sender address
To post to a list, you must be subscribed to that list and post from your subscriber address.
Normally, this is your @univ-amu.fr address, and it’s easiest to do this from the AMU ENT.
5- Moderation and confirmation
Some lists are moderated. In this case, your message will be echoed by the automatic message “Your message has been forwarded to the moderator(s)”, and distribution of your message will be subject to human reading and approval.
In all other cases, you will be asked to confirm that your message has been sent. You will receive an automatic message echoing your message, with the text “to distribute the attached message to the list, follow the link below”. This mechanism is designed to verify that the sender is human, but is not interested in the content of your message (unlike the moderation mechanism).
