Boundary orbits and periodic points in holomorphic dynamics

In this talk, I will introduce the main objects in complex dynamics: the Fatou and the Julia sets. The Fatou set is where stable dynamics take place, whereas the dynamics in the Julia set are chaotic. Understanding the orbits in the Julia set is, in general, complicated. However, when restricted to some forward invariant subsets of it, using what we call boundary orbits. Moreover, the presence and distribution of periodic points in the Julia set will be discussed.
The talk is meant to be accessible for everybody, even if you are not familiar with dynamics 🙂
