Part of the aim of the relative Langlands program is to produce new integral representations of automorphic L-functions. The program is still very much in progress, but generalized Ichino-Ikeda formulas of Sakellaridis-Venkatesh relate the global problem to certain problems in local harmonic analysis on spherical varieties. In particular, certain integrals involving the intersection complex of the formal arc space of a spherical variety are conjecturally equal to special values of unramified L-functions over a local function field. I will explain how we use techniques from geometric representation theory to establish this equality for a large class of spherical varieties. This is joint work with Yiannis Sakellaridis.
