We formulate and prove a Paley-Wiener theorem for Harish-Chandra modules for a real reductive group. As a corollary we obtain a new and elementary proof of the Helgason conjecture. (joint work with Heiko Gimperlein, Job Kuit and Henrik Schlichtkrull).
