For the second episode of this seminar, i hesitated for a while between this title and « Fiber bundles 2: Where the physics’ at? » but we all have to make choices at some point… So, gauge enthousiats, the smartest of you (i’m not giving names) probably guessed: we’re going to see where the physics happen! Indeed, all this blabbering about fiber bundles was not pure gobbledygook (Willem this one’s for you) but a necessary sacrifice to enter the magical world of gauge physics in differential geometry (yay!). I hope you all had time to complete the exercise sheet I sent after the first seminar, there WILL BE a test! Also we won’t have much time to go over what we did last time so if you can remember what a principal bundle is, good for you, you don’t have to gloat, no one likes a show-off… If you don’t, prepare for an hour of mild pain (which I can alleviate by sending you some notes from the first seminar if that helps.)(Kishore I didn’t forget about you, I’ll send them tomorrow!). Le séminaire des doctorant⋅es de l’I2M et du CPT à Luminy regroupe chaque semaine les doctorant⋅es du site autour d’un exposé plus ou moins (in)formel, dans un cadre convivial. Il est évidemment ouvert aux étudiant⋅es de master et aux doctorant⋅es d’autres laboratoires.
C’est au rez-de-chaussée du bâtiment de « l’ancienne BU », dans la salle « Séminaire 2 » (au fond à gauche en sortant de l’escalier si vous venez de l’étage, au fond à droite si vous entrez par le rez-de-chaussée). Attention : l’entrée dans le labo nécessite un badge. En cas de souci (de type : être bloqué⋅e dehors), appeler le 04 91 26 95 91.
